Windows Tips & Tricks

The following are standard Windows shortcuts and tips that not only apply to this program, but most standard Windows programs. These will allow you to control the program with a few less mouse clicks and keystrokes.

Moving Between Fields or Components On A Form or Window

To move between fields or components on a window press the <Tab> key. To move in the reverse direction press the <SHIFT-Tab> key.

Getting Back To The Artist Select Box

Pressing the <F7> key will jump you back to where you can type in an artists name to begin a new search.

Using The Clipboard

The data that this application places on the clipboard is formatted with <TAB> characters. When pasted into a word processor, highlight the pasted section and then define tabstops to line up the data.

Switching Between MDI Child Windows

An MDI (Multiple Document Interface) Window is an individual window or document that belongs to an application. An example of this is when you have more than one document open at a time in your word processor.

Each of the viewing windows in this program (ie: Search By Title window, Search By Catalogue #, etc) is considered a separate MDI Window. You have multiple choices to allow you to switch between them:

Pressing the <CTRL-F6> button will select the next window in the order that it was created.

Accessing the Window menu will allow you to Tile, Cascade, or select an individual window.

Selecting one of the Dynamic windows from either the Prints/Prices menu or one of the buttons on the Button Bar will bring that window to the front of the display

Also, you can press <F7> to jump back to the Artist Select edit box on the left-hand side of the screen.
